The goal of the project is to design and set up an online voice transcription centre for the hearing-impaired. The transcription will initially be carried out by professional human quick-writers, while our future goal is to automate the transcription. The project is a collaboration of RDC/CTU and the Czech Union of the Hearing-Impaired (CUN). During the first phase, audio data are recorded and analyzed by contemporary voice-recognition software, which will be later adapted to the needs of the hearing-impaired. The output of the first phase will be an online centre based on human transcription, and a case-study of voice recognition.

e-Scribe is generously sponsored by Vodafone Foundation Czech Republic.
